William A. Rowane, MD
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Dr. William Rowane is a child/adolescent psychiatrist with over 30 years of professional practice. He has been a member of our practice since our founding in 1994. He has extensive experience in evaluation and treatment of the full range of mental disorders impacting children, adolescents and their families and values collaboration with other mental health and educational professionals serving kids under his care.
Dr. Rowane received his MD degree from Hahnemann University in 1983, completed a residency in general psychiatry at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Medical College of Ohio. He worked for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation prior to joining our practice. and served in the past as a consulting psychiatrist to Catholic Charities Services.
In addition to his work with our practice, Dr. Rowane currently serves as the medical director for children’s services at Ravenwood Health – the primary mental health agency serving residents of Geauga County.
Dr. Rowane has participated in research in the areas loss, chronic illness, teenage suicide, and treatment of ADHD and adolescent psychosis. He is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and a founding member of the Northeast Ohio Society of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Dr. Rowane has been named as one of Cleveland’s Best Doctors on multiple occasions by Cleveland Magazine. He has received the Teaching Excellence Award from the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University, and the Geauga County Families First Council awarded him the John Murray Commitment to Families and Children Award.
Dr. Rowane and his wife have been married for over 29 years and have three adult sons.
