Leslie Jevnikar, Ph.D, PCC
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor
Dr. Leslie Jevnikar is an Ohio Licensed Clinical Counselor and has been in practice for 29 years. She received a Master of Arts degree from John Carroll University, and a PH. D. From Kent State University. Prior to joining the practice she worked for five years in a residential treatment program for youth with severe emotional disturbances and developmental disabilities. She has been with our practice since 1997.
Dr. Jevnikar provides cognitive behavior therapy along with parent guidance and training in her areas of clinical interest – Trichotillomania, skin picking and body-focused repetitive behaviors, anxiety disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, developmental disorders, adjustment disorders and disruptive behavior disorders. She offers individual, group and telemedicine sessions to children, adolescents, and families. She also presents workshops and trainings for parents and youth advocates.
She is certified by The Professional Training Institute Cognitive Behavior Therapy approach for trichotillomania, skin picking and related body focused repetitive behaviors (BFRB’s).
Dr. Jevnikar has conducted research in coping strategies for parents of children with intellectual or developmental disabilities. She has presented her work at the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry,
Dr. Jevnikar is a professional member of the TLC Foundation for BFRBs, the American Counselor Association, and The International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors. She has been married for 22 years and has three children.
